The KisanBridge application now requires essential data for core features like the **Crop & Land Marketplace** and **Transporter services**.
We are committed to collecting only the data necessary for the services you use, and providing you with **full control to manage or delete it.**
0. Policy Scope and Definitions
This Privacy Policy explains the data practices for the KisanBridge mobile application and website. For the purposes of this policy, Personal Data (or PII) means any information that can directly or indirectly identify you.
1. User Account & Authentication (Phone/OTP)
Access to marketplace features (Crop Selling/Buying, Land Listing, Transporter services) requires user authentication.
- Method: We use a **Mobile Number and One-Time Password (OTP)** system for secure, password-less login.
- Data Collected: Your **Phone Number** is collected to create and verify your user account.
- Purpose: To securely authenticate your identity, prevent fraud, and facilitate communication for listings (buyers/sellers/transporters).
2. Personal Data We Collect and How We Use It
We collect information that you voluntarily provide to us when setting up your profile or creating a listing.
Data Categories Collected:
- **Required Profile Data:** Name, **Phone Number** (for OTP authentication), Location (City/State), and Address.
- **Optional Profile Data:** Email (for communication), Date of Birth, and Bio/Description.
- **Location Data:** We may access your **approximate location** (derived from IP or user input) to tailor market price data and show relevant local listings. This is **never real-time GPS tracking**.
**Usage:** This data is used solely to establish your profile, verify listings, and enable other users to contact you regarding your marketplace activities (e.g., buying or selling).
3. Marketplace & Listings Data
To operate the Crop, Land, and Transporter marketplace, we collect data about your offered services, which will be **publicly visible** to other users.
- **Crop Listings:** Commodity type, price, quantity, preferred location for sale, and photos.
- **Transporter Listings:** Vehicle type, carrying capacity, desired routes/areas, and contact preferences.
- **Land Listings:** Land area (leasing/selling), location details (Tehsil/District), and photos.
- **Visibility:** Your **Name, Phone Number, and Listing Details** will be displayed to all users interested in your listings to facilitate direct communication.
4. Your Data Deletion Rights and Control 🗑️
You have the right to manage and delete your data at any time directly within the application.
- **Partial Deletion:** You can edit or delete individual listings (Crop, Land, Transporter) or update your optional profile details via the **User Profile** section of the app.
- **Full Account Deletion:** You can request the **permanent deletion** of your entire account and all associated Personal Data by visiting the **Profile Settings** screen in the app.
- **Retention:** Upon receiving a deletion request, we will permanently remove all your PII (Name, Phone, Address, etc.) and associated marketplace listings from our servers within **30 days**. We may retain non-personal, aggregated, or anonymized data for internal analysis.
5. Third-Party API Use for Functionality
We continue to rely on open-source data for market prices, but have added a crucial service for OTP delivery.
Key Third-Party Services:
- **OTP Service Provider (e.g., Firebase, Twilio, etc.):** Used to send verification codes to your phone number during login. Your **Phone Number** is temporarily shared with this provider for the sole purpose of SMS delivery.
- **Market Data APIs:** OGD Platform India and AGMARKNET Portal are still used for non-personal market price data.
**Security Note:** We only share the minimum data (e.g., phone number for OTP) required for these services to function. They are contractually obligated to protect your information.
6. Disclaimer of Non-Affiliation
KisanBridge is an independent application developed to improve access to agricultural market data. ** It is not an official government application and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or representing any government entity.**
All mandi price data is sourced directly from the officialAGMARKNET Portaland published through theOpen Government Data (OGD) Platform India.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services or legal requirements.
- We will always revise the **“Effective Date”** at the top of the policy.
- Any significant changes to our data collection practices will result in a revised policy being posted here, and you will be notified via the Google Play Store update mechanism.
- Your continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
